Assistant Practice Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and enthusiastic Assistant Practice Manager or Senior Administrator to join an innovative and progressive practice in Penarth.

Job Description

Penarth Healthcare Partnership is a forward looking, innovative and sustainable GP practice in the seaside town of Penarth.

There are 9 doctors (8 partners) 5 nurses, 2 healthcare assistants and an in-house pharmacist. Three of the partners are lecturers with Cardiff University. There is also close links with the RCGP, LMC and Cardiff & Vale University Health Board through the partners other interests.

The patient list is circa 13500 and the practice is the largest GP practice in the Eastern Vale Cluster and occupies a purpose built surgery, in a central location, which they hope to further enhance over the coming years to meet the wider needs of their patients and the community.

The practice currently trains medical students and have plans to become a training practice within the next year, with a successful preliminary application already submitted to the Welsh Deanery. The practice is the designated GP practice for the Waverley Care Home, although they have patients in other residential and nursing homes, and work closely with their cluster based clinical colleagues to provide care to their residential patients.

This position would also be suitable for a Practice Manager of a smaller practice who wishes to further their career in a bigger practice, with more opportunities to expand their skills.

The practice is forward looking and happy to embrace change, keen to be innovative to provide the best care for their patients and the best working environment that they can. They are currently involved in a major pilot project with the Transformation Team and undertake research and are a PICRIS practice.
