Executive Officer

Norfolk & Waveney Local Medical Committee have a unique and interesting opportunity to join their small and friendly, yet highly efficient Executive team based in Wymondham.

Job Description

The role is to support the Committee in its functions as the statutory representative body for around 850 GPs working within over 100 practices across Norfolk and Waveney.

STP Estates Strategy in relation to the primary care estate is identified by the Strategic Estate Planning service as a key priority for future development. Digital development and initiatives form part of estate development and both are integral to the vision of the General Practice Forward View (GPFV), the Long Term Plan (LTP) and the Sustainability and Transformation Partnership (STP) plans.

Dispensing and pharmacy issues and applications impact general practice and therefore LMC oversight, advice and guidance is required. The post holder will be expected to contribute towards the Norfolk and Suffolk Health and Wellbeing Board’s Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA) on behalf of the Committee where requested.

To support a healthy work life balance the post holder will have flexibility in managing their working hours to meet the requirements of the role and attend key meetings e.g. EoE GPFV Delivery Group, the STP Estates work stream and Estates oversight group.

Norfolk and Waveney are great places to live and that’s not just their opinion! A number of locations were featured in the Sunday Times Best Places to Live list for 2018! With its long coastline and variety of scenic interests including woodland and forests the Norfolk landscape is filled with ancient churches, windmills, picturesque villages. As a contrast the vibrant university city of Norwich offers a wonderful fusion of the modern and historic and is the only English city in a National Park. The waterways of the Norfolk Broads National Park extend into Waveney, which runs along the border of Norfolk and Suffolk. The Waveney Valley is an unspoilt haven of wildlife, idyllic villages and market towns where you can find plenty of ways to escape the frantic pace of everyday life.
